Exploring Melbourne Design Market

Exploring Melbourne Design Market

Every time a design market comes to Melbourne, I just have to be there! Melbourne Design Market  took a slightly different format this time around and it worked really well. The market was set up in the Federation Square car park, making it feel like a flea market rather than a big commercialised event. I loved the feel of the market, and wish there were more markets like this (or maybe I just haven't stumbled upon them yet). While there were a few familiar big-name designers there, there was also a refreshing mix of smaller designers that I hadn't seen before. I always walk away from these events feeling inspired to spend more time on my own craft, and I felt especially inspired today. I also snuck out with a few Christmas gifts including some very cute Christmas cards that fold out in the shape of a santa beard, some coasters and a tea towel. I'm always on the lookout for unique Christmas gifts that don't look like I found them in a department store on Christmas Eve, and Melbourne's many designer markets never disappoint. I'm already counting down until the next market!
