The Finders Keepers Market comes to Melbourne
I always look forward to the Finders Keepers market so much. I just can't get over how many amazing products are made by local designers in Australia. It's great to see my favourites as well as new products pop up at the markets. This time around I managed to restrain myself by not actually buying anything, although I really wanted to! I was very tempted by Naomi Murrell's beautiful jewellery, some amazing smelling soy candles, Funkis Clogs and some spotty tights. I'm sure my wallet is thanking me for my resistance, however no doubt I'll be keeping my eye on all of these products!
As always, there was an amazing turnout for the Finders Keepers. I initially tried to go on the Friday evening, however was put off by the insanely long queue that went down Nicholson Street and back into the Carlton Gardens. It's great to see so many people supporting this wonderful initiative.
These are possibly the biggest knitting needles I've ever seen! Given that I'm still learning to knit, I certainly can't make any promises about wanting to start knitting these beautiful baskets, however I would love one of these at home. Amusingly, they'd be perfect for storing my knitting in.
I've recently been considering getting into wearing silk scarves, despite not being entirely sure how I should wear one! If I do buy a scarf, I'd love to get one from McKean Studio. These beautiful bright scarves are printed with city-scapes from some of the most exciting cities in the world. I could also see these scarves looking amazing thrown over a coffee table or on a cushion cover.
I didn't manage to catch the name of the designer who makes these cute knitted head plaques, but I love them! I'm sure they're probably intended for children but that doesn't stop me wanting one for myself!
Alice Nightingale is now officially my favourite local fashion designer. Her amazingly cute clothes make me want to drift off into a far away land, and remind me a little of the outfits in Moonrise Kingdom. I'm especially loving her capes and even feeling a bit inspired to make one myself (although it's unlikely that I'd finish anything before winter is over).
